Online applicants are invited to apply for a Senior fellow post in Palliative Medicine at Countess Mountbatten House Hospice (CMH) This post is fixed term.
These exciting opportunities will suit doctors who already have some experience in Palliative Medicine. The applicants may be planning to follow a career in the specialty but wish to have additional experience prior to application for Specialty Training. It may also be of interest to doctors in other disciplines who would like to further develop their interest in Palliative Medicine.
Although this is not a training post, training will be given and there will be opportunities to enhance the potholders’ e-portfolio.
Depending on the previous experience of the applicants and the needs of the service, the post-holders may be involved in the care of patients admitted to CMH inpatient unit and the CMH community team.
The post holders will be joining a friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic multidisciplinary team, either at CMH.
Applicants should have full GMC registration with license to practice.
At least four years’ postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) with at least two years in a relevant specialty including experience in Palliative Medicine is essential.
MRCP (UK) full diploma or MCEM (Full) or MRCGP (full, with CCT) or MRCS (Full) or FRCA (Full) or FRCS or EEA eligibility is essential. Other qualifications or previous experience in Palliative Medicine or medical education would be desirable. Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists).
Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)
Basic Salary - MT04 £48,075
Travelling expenses will not be paid for attending interview
Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role. Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible. Applicants requiring Tier 2 sponsorship should ensure they meet the Home Office application criteria prior to submitting an application.
