Online applications are invited to apply for a Senior Fellow post in cardiothoracic Surgery commencing asap. This post is fixed term – 6 months.

Two full time posts as Senior Fellow (Registrar/ ST3+) one in Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery and one in congenital cardiac surgery are available one commencing 1st May and one commencing 5th  August 2020 at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, based primarily at Southampton General Hospital

ABOUT THE TEAM

The department undertakes all aspects of Adult Cardiac, Congenital Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery except transplantation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role is the trust equivalent to an ST3+ training post but is not a Deanery training programme and does not carry an NTN.  The post holder will be encouraged to participate in clinical research, audit and teaching.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

This post would be suitable for someone seeking additional experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery. The post holder will have access to a structured training programme. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists).

Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)

Basic Salary -  MT04        £48,075

Travelling expenses will not be paid for attending interview

Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role.  Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.  Applicants requiring Tier 2 sponsorship should ensure they meet the Home Office application criteria prior to submitting an application.
