We are looking for an enthusiastic Specialist Sonographer to join our busy, friendly imaging department. You will be part of a small team of Sonographers, who are well respected and committed to providing a high standard of examinations.
The ultrasound department performs routine and complex obstetric and gynaecological scans to support antenatal and gynaecology outpatients, gynaecology oncology, and Post-Menopausal Bleeding clinics. All Sonographers scan and report autonomously and are supported for further development and training.
In addition we have a self-contained Early pregnancy Unit with all day ultrasound cover, six days a week.
You will work closely with and be supported by the onsite Regional Fetal Medicine team who provide care to women and their families undergoing high risk or problematic pregnancies requiring specialist care and expertise. You will also work closely and be supported by our lead Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who have a specialised interest in ultrasound.
We require staff with energy, excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and attitude; commitment and passion to deliver and improve the service to women centred care
We encourage the progression and development of our staff and to keep up to date with new techniques and promote evidence based practice.
Maintain clinical practise, providing imaging examinations while adhering to all safety regulations and operating equipment effectively. Supervise and support junior staff with clinical activities, providing education and training as required. Flexible working may involve evenings and weekends (as part of normal working hours).
All applicants must have valid UK HPC (Health Professions Council) registration and hold the postgraduate qualification (M level or equivalent) in Mammography. Post qualification experience in screening mammography and assessment is desirable but not essential.
