We are looking for nurses to join us on a night working basis in division b wards across acute medicine, emergency medicine, respiratory high dependency and medicine for older people,– you’ll help us shape the future in a leading teaching hospital as well as your own learning and career development.
Here at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust we are working hard to make sure our patients and their families have the most positive experience possible with us as part of our patient experience strategy and 20:20 vision. In our recent friends and family questionnaire 77% of our staff said that they are extremely likely to recommend us a place to work!
You will need to have a strong focus on providing compassionate patient care and be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver on the chief nursing officer 6C’s framework.
We are looking for motivated, passionate and enthusiastic individuals, who are also keen team players. You should enjoy the challenge of working in a busy environment. With our services expanding, the staff nurse role will complement our existing teams.
If you have the relevant experience and qualifications for the role we are keen to work with you. If you are looking to return to hospital nursing following time out of an acute care setting, we would also welcome the opportunity to talk to you and can support you with our comprehensive education programme.
You will be offered opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally within a supportive environment. In return we can offer you opportunities to enhance your skills and be part of a forward thinking and supportive multi-professional team.
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) is one of England's largest acute teaching trusts. We've recently been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey we ranked seventh in the country for staff engagement, and fourth best nationally for our proportion of staff saying that they would recommend the hospital as a place to work or to receive care. One of our main objectives has been to become a top ten research trust, with the pharmacy department being an integral part of achieving this.
Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and only an hour on the train from central London. The New Forest National Park and the beaches of the Jurassic coast are also right on our doorstep.
The city offers living costs 20% lower than those in London, 13 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted and 13 nearby green spaces to enjoy.
Closing date for applications Wednesday 6 March.
