The cardiovascular and thoracic (CV&T) care group provides a regional service and is the largest clinical care group within University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior sister/charge nurse to join the team on our vascular ward.
D4 is a 22 bedded adult ward specialising in the care of patients requiring vascular surgery and management of vascular conditions and it has developed strong links with ‘hospital at home’ to ensure a seamless patient journey and appropriate, early discharge. Examples of procedures performed on patients admitted to this ward include aortic aneurysm repairs, carotid endarterectomy’s, femoral - popliteal bypasses, femoral -distal bypasses, amputations, chronic wound management and skin grafts. The vascular service here is much respected and they have recently expanded their service to include patients from all over Hampshire to provide very specialised surgeries and interventions.
We are looking for an individual, who is a strong leader, highly motivated and has excellent communication skills. The sister role requires a close working relationship with the multi-professional team to ensure that evidenced based quality care is delivered with compassion to every patient.
You will be required to have high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike. It is essential that you are good at promoting cooperation, building teams and developing people for the future, as well as focusing on your own professional growth.
Our vascular ward can be very busy at times and therefore we require nurses that are able to prioritise their workload and offer patients high standards of care whilst maintaining a professional and caring attitude.
We are a dedicated team, proud of the care, service and experience that we offer and provide for our patients. The care group has a local, national and international reputation of delivering expert specialised care.
