All applicants must be fully flexible to cover a variety of shifts including early, late, long days and nights – as our services operate 24 hours, 365 days a year.
We're recruiting across all our sites, including Southampton General Hospital, Princess Anne Hospital and Royal South Hants Hospital, and there are opportunities available across many of our patient services, including (but not limited to):
- Eye unit
- Trauma and orthopaedics
- Medicine for older people
- Specialist medicine
Please note that we currently have very limited opportunities within our paediatric services, so you may wish to consider an alternative area when making your application.

As a healthcare assistant at UHS, there are opportunities available that you can apply for to help you develop within your role and to progress towards the *nursing associate apprenticeship or *nursing degree apprenticeship programme. Being recruited as a healthcare support worker does not guarantee acceptance onto one of these apprenticeships and these will be subject to further application and interview onto a programme.

We provide a supportive and comprehensive induction process to enable you to complete your care certificate, find your feet within the organisation, and quickly integrate into our team.
