Two new opportunities have arisen to join our friendly and dedicated specialist Trauma and Orthopaedics team on 6 months fixed term contracts as a Referral to Treatment (RTT) Analysts. The role is varied, interesting and crucial to ensuring an excellent patient experience every step of the way. This demanding role offers the opportunity to develop a range of administrative tasks, communication skills, attention for detail, outstanding customer service skills, a positive, patient-centred flexible approach and multi -tasking skills.

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) is a National Trauma Centre and leading the way is our Trauma and Orthopaedic care group providing the skill and care to many of our Major Trauma patients. Natural evolution and progression has seen many exciting developments including the formation of our Plastic Surgery service. This desire to be the best whilst providing the best care possible to our patients ensures our nationally renowned reputation, which is held in high regard, is maintained.
Working with the access manager, you’ll be responsible for validating patient waiting lists in accordance with the Trust’s access policy, as well as providing performance reporting to be used at a high level. You will also:
Work to agreed objectives and monitor the department’s adherence to the 18 week targets, best practice tariffs, and Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUINs)
Work within a dedicated specialty clinical area for trauma & orthopaedics to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey
Ensure that coordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
Alongside experience of working in a busy, target focused environment, the ideal candidate would have:
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills
The ability to work well under pressure and in a team
A desire to provide a first class service for patients and clinical teams.
You should be able to work flexibly in supporting the functions of the unit and have a genuine desire to contribute to providing a quality service for patients.
