Applications are invited for a Junior Fellow (SHO Level equivalent) in Trauma and Orthopaedics. The Junior Fellow will cover both elective and trauma services.
ABOUT THE TEAM
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust has been designated as a Major Trauma Centre and these exciting new posts will offer excellent experience in the management of major trauma and its sequela. Sub specialties include Pelvic, Upper Limb, Periprosthetic, Spinal, and Limb Reconstruction surgery. The Unit has a total of 108 beds for Elective and Trauma and an additional Spinal Unit. Research and audit will be supported, encouraged and expected.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Duties will cover a mix of Ward Round and Ward Cover days as well as Out of Hours shifts such as Day, Night and weekend on calls to support the senior on call rota. Additional duties that will provide extra Orthopaedic training are days in Theatre, clinic and allocated SPA time.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
These posts are ideally suited for candidates wishing to progress to higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics and are not recognised for CT Training. The job has been structured to provide a fantastic opportunity to expand trauma experience in a Major Trauma centre.
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate their competence to communicate in spoken and written English.
Where equivalent qualifications or experience are being offered, it is essential that candidates should provide confirmation of this from the relevant College or Faculty in the United Kingdom and attach the confirmation to your application.
