Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (Specialising in Trauma and Pelvic/Acetabular Reconstruction) UHS MTC are looking to recruit a fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who is on the specialist register and prepared to lead and develop services within the department. 

ABOUT THE TEAM

The appointee will join a team of 22 specialist Consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeons delivering a high quality service to the local and regional population. These posts will consolidate the range of specialist trauma expertise available in our Major Trauma Centre (MTC), allowing for timely access to surgery for all patients.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The post will contribute to the on call rota and to the trauma ward Consultant rota, allowing us to deliver the high quality responsive service that we aspire to. The posts will contribute to the development of a modern and responsive outpatient service, using telephone consultations, where appropriate.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

These post-holders will deliver continuous service improvement to their clinical subspecialties, ensuring that UHS is at the forefront of clinical techniques and service delivery modalities. They will be important for the continued improved educational opportunities in this department, including at registrar and at foundation year levels.

Post – Trauma with a specialist interest in pelvic and acetabular trauma (an elective interest is desirable but not essential)
