An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Switchboard service at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust based at Southampton General Hospital.

We are looking for professional, skilled and customer focused Switchboard supervisor to fill our full time 37.5 hours

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership, management and supervision of a busy switchboard environment.

The successful candidate will also need to be able to demonstrate excellent admin, communication and prioritisation skills along with attention to detail and have the ability to work under pressure.

Full training on all aspects of the role will be provided.

The department provides an excellent 24-hour telephony and emergency response service to all internal departments and externally for patients and their relatives, GP Emergency admissions, Patient Location, Major Incident and Fire service calls.

The successful candidate may also be required to work over the 24/7 rota period and is required to participate in the switchboard On call rota.

In addition to the advertised salary, operators will receive additional payments for working after 8pm at night and for working weekends.

Additional hours will be offered to cover leave and sickness, flexibility and availability to commit to these will be essential.
