We are a 28 bedded regional unit for head and neck surgery. We pride ourselves on being forward thinking and improving clinical practice. We have developed a free flap pathway for our maxillofacial patients undergoing life changing surgery, which has been proven to standardised care, enhanced recovery for our patients and shortening their hospital admission. The F5 team drives high standards of care for all our patients and are dedicated to continually improving patients care and experience from admission to discharge. The F5 team are in the process of developing other treatment pathways, using clinical evidence. This aims to optimise patient’s outcomes, improve their experience and reduce length of stay. We are a proud spirited team who always put the patient first whilst building trusting relationships with our patient and their families.
As the successful candidate, your skills as a senior role model will be pivotal in supporting the personal and professional development of the ward nursing team with the support of your ward manager. You will ensure that quality agendas are being met, making certain that your team are delivering safe, effective, timely care in a caring and supportive environment. The role also incorporates bleep holding duties where you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the surgical unit in overseeing the acuity of patients and ensuring safe staffing levels are met in each individual ward area.
We are looking for a person with a positive proactive leadership style, a team player who is passionate about developing staff so they in turn deliver a high standard of patient care. You must have
post qualifying experience in a relevant acute hospital speciality, with the aptitude and skill necessary to lead and motivate a team of nurses, working closely with the MDT. Previous experience of tracheostomy and Laryngectomy knowledge would be beneficial to the role.
