Online applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Paediatrician in Sleep Medicine (neurological) at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 6 month, fixed-term locum appointment. The successful applicant will have completed specialty training in paediatrics and have sub-speciality experience of sleep medicine.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The post holder will join a multi-disciplinary team of 15 professionals (3 part-time consultants, clinical nurse specialists, psychologists, sleep practitioners and sleep physiologists). They will contribute to outpatient assessment and treatment of children with a range of sleep disorders (non-respiratory), training and education within the Southampton Sleep Training programme and will provide consultant leadership for the neuro-sleep physiology team.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking to appoint a well-motivated individual with paediatric sleep medicine experience. The department has a strong ethos in education and research and the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to this activity. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate their competence to communicate in spoken and written English. Applicants should have a CCT or be on the GMC’s Specialist Register. Applicants who are within six months of obtaining their CCT on the date of the AAC may also apply.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Individuals wishing to apply must be fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and should be either already on or within 6 months of eligibility to be included on the specialist register of the GMC.
The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.
