Are you an HCPC registered therapy radiographer who is looking to take the next step of your career as a band 6 team leader?

Do you wish to further your development in a supportive and rapidly developing department? Are you keen to rotate through and gain experience in all areas of a busy RT centre?  Are you ready to be part of a compassionate team which is dedicated to providing excellent patient centred care and safe and accurate delivery of radiotherapy treatment? Then Southampton oncology centre could be the place for you.

Our radiotherapy department is equipped with 6 Elekta linear accelerators.  Our newest Versa HD Elekta Linear Accelerator, equipped with FFF, Agility MLCs, ExacTrac, 2D MV, 2D KV, 3D CBCT & 4D CBCT and HexaPod evo RT system is due to go live clinically in February 2018, to be followed by a matching Linac later this year.  We are also equipped with two Elekta Beam Modulator Linacs and four linacs with 3D imaging. We provide DXR planning and treatment and a brachytherapy service for gynae and prostate cancers alongside our 2 dedicated CT planning scanners in our pre-treatment service. As the regional centre of excellence, we provide radiotherapy to support the transplant, paediatric and neuro-oncology patients, including the delivery of SRS/T. We are actively developing our IGRT, IMRT and VMAT services and have now firmly established our SABR service.

A Trust commitment to improving radiotherapy services has enabled us to build an additional linac bunker this year and we are currently embarking on a full linear accelerator replacement programme. We also have a very active trials portfolio.

We are committed to continuing professional development and have a supported portfolio program to develop your band 6 leadership skills and competencies. We are a teaching hospital and all staff support the training of student radiographers and assistant practitioners.

Southampton is a vibrant, modern city situated on the south coast with excellent links to London and neighbouring towns. Southampton is known as the ‘Green City’ for its numerous parks and green spaces and is just 10 minutes’ drive from the New Forest national park.

We look forward to welcoming you to our department.
