We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fulfil the role of Admin Manager within the Radiology Department at the University Hospital Southampton, NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). The successful candidate must have relevant experience working within a supervisory or management post either within the NHS, or have relevant experience with transferable skills.


You will be working within the Radiology Department at UHS supporting a diverse team of around 60 admin staff and working closely with the Care Group Manager, Operations Manager and Clinical Leads. The post holder will be required to work Monday-Friday core hours, but be flexible subject to changes with the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


  • Manage the team of non-clinical admin and clerical staff with Radiology. Provide advice and support for and issues or concerns within the team.
  • Be responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of all administrative processes within Radiology and ensure that all are carried out in line with Trust policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Set expectation regarding levels of customer services and ensure all staff understand these and maintain them.
  • Cascade and/or escalate details of any delays within the admin/booking process or delivery of clinical services.


You will need to be able to demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to support and develop the non clinical admin and booking teams and ensure a high quality, safe and efficient administrative service.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate leadership, team working and interpersonal skills. Be able to establish positive relationships and communicate effectively at every level.

  • Educated to Degree level or relevant experience
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office packages, Word, Excel, Outlook
