University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Radio pharmacy Technician. This post is 32 hours per week.
This role is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge of the specialist work undertaken within our Radiopharmacy. You will be involved in preparing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, supervising other less experienced staff in this work and performing in-process checks on the work of others. Undertaking Quality control tests on finished radiopharmaceuticals, as well as supporting the senior team with developing the work in line with commercial requirements.
We are a small very friendly unique team of 9.
Working day starts at 5.30am with an occasional Saturday morning shift.
We are a licensed Radiopharmacy unit providing an essential diagnostic and therapy service to our own UHS Nuclear Medicine department, as well as Nuclear Medicine departments and veterinary hospitals across the south coast.
To prepare and package sterile, aseptically dispensed products, clinical trials and specially compounded products.
To ensure that the preparation and packaging of aseptic products are carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures, following Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Clinical Trials Practice and adhering to COSHH regulations.
To supervise the staff undertaking the aseptically dispensed products in order to meet or exceed the requirements defined in the Service Level Agreements between Radiopharmacy and its customers/users.
To act as an accredited checking technician.
