Due to the expansion of the radiology nursing services we are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, motivated, caring senior health care assistant to join the radiology nursing team to provide support for our rust wide vascular access team, ultrasound department and transfer team at Southampton General Hospital.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months maternity cover, working 16 hours a week.

You will be allocated to meet the service needs where appropriate:

  • Rotate through the Radiology Nursing Transfer team whereby you will be responsible to assess individual patient’s requirements, monitor and care for patients in the department waiting areas pre/post procedures and escort patients between wards and Radiology
  • Work within the Ultrasound department to prepare equipment, obtain laboratory results and assist Radiologists with aseptic procedures in Ultrasound/ Interventional Suites as required
  • Work within the Specialist Vascular access team (PICC team) within Radiology to prepare equipment, assist with aseptic procedures and monitor patients

Candidates would have NVQ Level 3 in Care, Numeracy and Literacy levels 1 or 2.  Computer skills, Cannulation/venesection, MEWS score recording data.
