University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and University of Southampton partnership is recognised as a centre of excellence in clinical research securing research funding in excess of £30m per annum. We are currently seeking a Research & development Grants Manager who will work with researchers and colleagues to support the pre-award and post-award process for a range of grant funding applications. The Grants Manager will also work with colleagues across Southampton and Wessex to create support mechanisms for researchers in terms of career development and the advance of appropriate training and development opportunities.
The Grants Manager will be responsible for the oversight and support, and where appropriate contribute to the development of grant applications including the co-ordination of large bids, ensuring that the research proposals are of the highest quality and competiveness. In terms of post-award activities the role will include ensuring that the Trust fulfils the reporting and governance requirements for a range of funders, including managing any Trust databases and external funders databases.
This post requires a person with a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to co-ordinate and review highly complex grant applications. Good IT skills would be advantageous and the successful applicant should be able to provide evidence of continuing professional development.
