Do you have Paediatric Oncology experience?  Then we would love to hear from you.

Southampton Children’s hospitals Paediatric oncology service are expanding and are looking for experienced nurses to join the friendly, well established and high performing team, delivering high quality care provision to children/young people with cancer and their families.  We currently have two full time positions at band 7, one Paediatric oncology outreach nurse specialist and one Paediatric neuro-oncology outreach nurse specialist. 

Piam Brown is a regional paediatric oncology/haematology unit currently supporting 12 inpatient beds and a day ward facility.  The ward was recently refurbished and is currently undergoing a service expansion.  The ward has a dedicated facilitator ensuring clear educational pathways are provided for staff.

If you are highly motivated and committed to giving our children and their families a seamless quality service from the principal treatment centre, home, community and share care centres and have the drive and passion to challenge practice and participate in developing the service, we would like to hear from you.

You will be required to:

  • Manage a caseload of children in the community and/or acute setting.
  • Provide Teaching
  • Consult and work with the MDT
  • Be involved with Research and clinical audit

You will need to be a registered nurse (child), hold a Paediatric Oncology Qualification, ideally have palliative care experience, as well as experience of managing a caseload and have the knowledge and skills to act as an expert practitioner in this specialty.
