We are looking for both full and part time staff nurses to join our team on the Piam Brown unit, within our paediatric oncology/haematology service.

Do you want to work in a busy caring environment?

Yes - Then this is the job for you!

We are looking for motivated nurses who wish to build on their existing experience and skills to join us in this challenging and rewarding speciality. This post includes rotation to nights and weekend shift work.

Piam brown is a 10 bedded inpatient unit with adjoining day ward and clinics. We care for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer from birth up to 16 yrs old who require systemic anti-cancer therapy (chemotherapy). We are a regional referral centre taking patients from Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, West Sussex, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Wight.

The successful candidate will be RSCN/RN child branch or adult rn qualified, competent in the administration of intravenous therapy and willing to undertake chemotherapy administration training. Previous experience of giving chemotherapy is desirable but not essential. The Children’s Hospital offers fantastic training and development opportunities, giving you the best possible platform to achieve the career you want. We have an existing oncology education pathway supported by our clinical facilitator and will support new staff to learn the skills required for the post.

The recently refurbished unit takes pride in the delivery of family centred, evidenced based care and therefore are committed to the ongoing professional development of all our team members.

We’ve worked hard as a Trust to make and improve the efficiency of our services and as a result, we are currently in financial surplus. We are one of England's largest acute teaching trusts and have recently been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC. Patient care is driven through our values of Patient First, team Working and Always Improving.
