Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Sleep and Long Term Ventilation
Online applications are invited for a part time post as a senior fellow in paediatric sleep medicine and long term ventilation from August 2018. This post is fixed term for 6 months
The Trust is a major teaching centre for the University of Southampton, offering opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and excellent facilities for research and clinical care. The post holder will join a team of 3 paediatric sleep consultants and 5 respiratory consultants to further develop their interests and skills in paediatric sleep medicine and long term ventilation. A full range of subspecialty interests are offered with special expertise in sleep disordered breathing, ventilation titration, neurobehavioural sleep disorders including movement disorders, parasomnias and narcolepsy. It is expected that this post will fulfil the training requirements of an individual who wishes to practice the subspecialty as a consultant. Opportunities will be available to study towards sleep qualifications.
Applicants should have MRCPCH, experience in managing children on ventilation and have experience of managing children with sleep disorders including sleep disordered breathing.
Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists) which will be published and available at time of offers.
Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)
Basic Salary MT04 £46,208
Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role. Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.
