The University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust eye outpatient service has expanded its services to Lymington New Forest Hospital and we are looking to recruit a Senior Health care assistant to join our team.   If you are motivated, professional and want to help shape a new service, then this may be the position for you.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The eye outpatient department have recently expanded services to Lymington New forest hospital to meet the needs of patients and provide excellent patient care.

Eye Outpatients is a fast moving dynamic outpatient department which runs a six day service, Monday-Saturday. The department is continually changing this requiring the applicant to be flexible and forward thinking.

You may be required occasionally to cover at Southampton eye unit.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The role will include supporting the nursing team to deliver high standards of care to patients.  Assessing of visual acuity, instillation of eye drops, preparing patients for invasive procedures, supporting Doctors in clinics, assisting Doctors with laser clinics, supporting and carrying out care for patients identified as vulnerable will be just some of the tasks involved in this particular role.  As a senior HCA, you will have opportunities to develop ophthalmic skills and imaging skills (including visual field tests, scans of the back of the eye) within this role.
