The Wessex Neurological Centre is the regional Centre for Neurosurgery, Complex Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology serving a population of approx. 3.5 million. We provide a wide range of specialist adult and paediatric services housed in both the Wessex Neurosciences Centre UHS and in OP departments across our catchment area.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill a 12 month secondment to cover maternity leave. This exciting opportunity for a Personal Assistant to assist the Neurosciences Care Group Management Team will provide pivotal and essential support to the Care Group Manager and Care Group Clinical Lead and Matrons. This comprehensive administrative role is instrumental to the day to day running of the department.
The successful candidate will be competent in Management Systems, be articulate and have good written skills, be confident and experienced in secretarial skills. The role will also include some Medical Staffing Administration for the Care Group. Candidates must have relevant experience and appropriate skills such as proficiency in Microsoft Office; in particular diary management, excellent written and communication skills, and work with initiative, be flexible and enjoy team work. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate diplomacy and confidentiality as some duties will be HR related. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours.
The role involves working closely with the Management Team providing comprehensive administration at a higher level. If you are an experienced Secretary/Administrator and are interested in working within Neurosciences; this role will appeal to you.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
