We are looking for a registered nurse or midwife with a post-registration qualification in neonatal nursing to join us as a sister in within our women and newborn care group. The successful applicant will provide a leadership role and be a skilled member of the neonatal team, both within the neonatal unit and on transfers.

You will:

  • be self-motivated, capable, caring and dynamic,
  • have the ability to prioritise your workload,
  • be able demonstrate your ability to lead,
  • have a proven track record of clinical excellence, and
  • have a teaching or mentorship qualification.

We will offer you continued education, opportunities in specialist care covering the full ITU spectrum of services and the chance to work in a supportive and satisfying team.

We provide intensive, high and special care to babies and families from across the South coast and Channel Islands in the hospital, as a transport service and at home. Our tertiary centre supports over 6000 deliveries per annum and is host to the high-risk obstetric and fetal medicine services.

In 2016 our neonatal unit became the first in the country to gain the official BLISS Family Friendly Accreditation Scheme (BFFAS) for our family-centred care for sick and premature babies.

We provide the full range of medical and surgical intensive care and directly support the care of newborn infants with complex conditions referred to all paediatric sub-specialities.

We have been recently rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey the Trust ranked fifth in the country for staff engagement, top ten for staff feeling happy with the standard of care provided, and top ten for staff would recommend the trust as a place to work.
