Online applications are invited to apply for a clinical fellow post in Neurosciences intensive care and anaesthetics commencing August 2020. This post is for 6 months or 1 year.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Neuro ICU is a 13 bedded dedicated Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit. The unit admits approximately 650 patients per annum (200 severe head injuries, 140 SAH, 100 emergency neurosurgical cases, 200 elective neurosurgical cases, 20 neurology/general ICU cases).

This Clinical Fellow post is 1 of 15 doctors on a full shift rota which is well supported by dedicated Consultant input.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The unit is recognised by the Intensive Care Medicine Specialty training committee for training in intensive care medicine and ICM and ACCS trainees work on the unit. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in the clinical research trials and audits currently underway in NeuroICU. Support for study leave will be given.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

A proportion of the posts are at ST3 level and a proportion at F3 level and while previous ICU experience is preferable it is not essential. Applicants with Anaesthetics, medical, emergency medicine or surgical backgrounds will be considered.

Applicants must have completed foundation competencies or equivalent before starting.

Where equivalent qualifications or experience are being offered, it is essential that candidates should provide confirmation of this from the relevant College or Faculty in the United Kingdom and attach the confirmation to your application.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists).

Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)

Basic Salary – MT03         £37,935                

Basic Salary -  MT04        £48,075

Travelling expenses will not be paid for attending interview

Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role.  Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.  Applicants requiring Tier 2 sponsorship should ensure they meet the Home Office application criteria prior to submitting an application.
