Online applications are invited for a senior special interest training fellowship post in obstetrics and gynaecology at Princess Anne Hospital commencing asap. This post is fixed term for 12 months with possible extension.
The Princess Anne Hospital is part of Southampton University Hospitals Trust and functions both as a District General Hospital with nearly 6000 deliveries and a tertiary referral centre for the Wessex region. The Trust is a major national centre for teaching and research.
This post is ideally designed for an experienced trainee to further develop and consolidate their skills in minimal access gynaecology to improve their potential to successfully apply for a consultant post. The special interest opportunities available will enable the post holder to gain accreditation in transvaginal ultrasound, colposcopy and/or hysteroscopy if required, in addition to increasing skills in laparoscopic surgery.
The post holder could undertake appropriate ATSMs and be involved in research if desired.
The successful applicant would contribute to the on-call full-shift middle grade rota.
They would be encouraged to participate fully in other activities within the department including clinical governance, service development, education supervision and training and continuing professional development.
Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists) which will be published and available at time of offers.
Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)

Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.
