We’re looking for exceptional graduates to join our in-house graduate management training scheme commencing September 2019; giving you the opportunity to build a career within NHS operational management.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain broad experience of all levels of a large, complex NHS organisation; with the intention that you’ll be qualified for a management post within the Trust at the end of the scheme.
What we can offer you
The programme will run for two years, consisting of two, one-year placements covering an operational and then a strategic focus, providing you with exposure to working within the NHS.

During the programme, you’ll develop competencies including:
- leadership skills
- financial management
- strategic planning
- operational and performance management
- staff management
- communication and working in a complex organisation
- change, project management and service improvement
You’ll be provided with a mentor from the Trust’s executive team who’ll coach and support you through the programme. You’ll be expected to complete work-based projects and the work experience element of the programme will be complemented by a formal education offering provided by one of our training partners.

What we’re looking for and how we’ll assess you
Along with having gained or having been predicted a 2:2 in any degree subject and the capability and capacity for the management of health services, you’ll need to demonstrate your ability to:
- work under pressure in a demanding environment
- analyse problems and to develop practical workable solutions
- develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
The recruitment assessment process for this scheme will include:
- online testing (verbal, numeric reasoning)
- a video interview
- an assessment centre
We expect these assessments to take place during March, April and May 2019. If you’re successful in reaching the assessment centre stage you’ll be asked to attend on-site for a full day to complete this.
