Make a big difference to patient care
Are you passionate about how digital can make a difference?
We’re looking for full-stack application developers with experience of ASP.Net, C#, CSS, HTML5 and enterprise databases. We are looking to appoint at band 7, dependent on skills and experience, but we’d also welcome applications from candidates who do not quite meet the grade requirement, but who would, after gaining specified competencies, be suitable for the role.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The UHSFT Digital Programme Team are delivering key components of the Trust’s Digital Strategy including the Global Digital Exemplar Programme. They work closely with colleagues to introduce new technology and systems to the organisation. They engage with the chief clinical informatics officers and the chief nursing informatics and other clinical champions to ensure that projects are clinically led and focused on delivering benefits for staff and patients.
The My Medical Record programme is a leading patient online service that exists to support patients in managing their own healthcare whilst away from the hospital. The service supports clinicians and patients at fourteen hospitals around the country and our work programme is rapidly expanding. As such, we are growing our existing team to support this programme.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The majority of your time will be spent developing and supporting new or existing modules within My Medical Record to meet new patient, clinician and business requirements. The work is typically extremely varied and each task can utilise the complete range of development tools and techniques from purely “front end” user interface styling to “back end” work with data interfaces and the underlying architecture of the platform. You will be required to work with a wide range of stakeholders, mostly within the My Medical Record team but also across the organisation.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for experienced full-stack application developers who can enhance our existing systems, and develop new solutions to meet the needs of the Trust and our partner organisations. Significant experience of ASP.Net, C#, CSS, and HTML5, is essential, as well as practical experience of enterprise databases. Awareness of HL7, FHIR, APIs, JSON/XML would be advantageous.
Applicants must be self-motivated, with an ability to adapt their skills to our development environment. We operate complex data storage architectures with multiple interfaces and therefore significant knowledge transfer will be required, so the right candidate will also be a quick learner. The post requires strong collaboration and teamwork including with non-technical staff so the successful candidate will also be someone who can work well within a team.
Please read the attached person specifications and job descriptions which detail the skills and experience that you’ll need to demonstrate for the band 7 role.
If you do not meet all the grade requirements but can demonstrate many of them, we will consider appointing at a training grade with a view to you gaining specific competencies, undertaking training or building experience which would then make you eligible for the advertised position.
