An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Band 7 Senior /Charge Nurse to work within our 13 bedded hyper acute stroke unit. Admissions come direct from ED to administer thrombolysis treatment, where appropriate intra-arterial clot retrieval, mechanical thrombectomy and commence on the Stroke pathway.

The Wessex Neurological Centre (WNC) provides a dedicated, integrated 24 hour acute neurosurgical and neurological assessment, investigation and treatment service. Being one of the largest neuroscience centers in the country we provide services to a population of three million people. Sitting within a large teaching hospital, we have clear priorities for maintaining high standards of care and developing our specialist services for the community. The unit consists of

-           Neurosurgery

-           Neurology

-           Acute stroke

-           Genetics

-           Neurophysiology

-           Neuro OPD/ Pre assessment

Neurosciences has a large team of specialist nurses for all sub specialties, in addition there is a unique and fast developing 24/7 advanced nurse practitioner team who support the ward areas at all times.
