An exciting opportunity has arisen within specialist medicine for a Patient pathway coordinator to join the Hepatology team based at Southampton General Hospital.

You will work within a dedicated specialty clinical area to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey, ensuring that co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.

Duties will include dealing with telephone queries, typing of patient correspondence, recording of MDT minutes, clinic management, organising consultant home visits and liaising with other services within SGH and other hospitals. Attention to detail is required.

You should have experience of working as a medical or patient services secretary linked to a clinical service or customer focused environment, and have knowledge of medical terminology. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure and a desire to provide a first class service for patients and clinical teams. This role will involve using the hospital computer systems and training will be given if needed.

Unfortunately there is no flexibility to consider a job share or part time hours.  The post holders will be required to work 37.5 hours over Monday – Sunday between the hours of 8am and 8pm (usual hours between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday but you may be required to work an evening or weekend with prior notice)

Please contact Laura Morgan to arrange an informal visit or if you have any questions about the post.

Closing date for applications Friday 19 October.

In the event of an excessive number of applicants the Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy earlier than indicated.

Interviews for this post will take place on Friday 9 November.
