Staff Nurse Band 5 – General Surgery Nursing Development Post Come and join our Nursing Team, our multi professional team is leading the way in providing high quality educated care for the general surgical patient. We provide a career development pathway (CDP) for trained nurses from Band 5 to Band 7 and you could be a part of that. This provides a structured programme of clinical skills, managerial and leadership development for you to access. Included in our CDP is the Principles of Surgical Nurse Course (POSN), affiliated with the University – this course is the first in the UK specifically designed for surgical nurses. Throughout the CDP we support academic development at Level 6 and Level 7.
Our team consists of Health Care Assistants, Specialist Associate Practitioners, Staff Nurses, Junior and Senior Sisters, this team is lead by two Matrons who strive for high quality patient care and are committed in investing in you. We embrace innovative thinking here in General Surgery and are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals, who are also keen team players to join our General Surgery Team.
Our strategy is one of delivering and being part of a proud and professional workforce, striving for excellence in customer care, staff satisfaction and patient experience. Candidates should be energetic and forward thinking, have the courage to challenge and demonstrate commitment to the care group’s strategy. You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and have an understanding of how to improve and provide safe, quality care for patients and their relatives.
Our specialities consist of UGI, LGI, HPB, Urology, Intestinal Specialist Unit, Head & Neck including Head & Neck Assessment, Acute Surgery consisting of our Surgery ED and Acute Admissions Short Stay. CQC Rated in 2017 as Good achieving this through all domains.
