Online applications are invited for a full time locum consultant general paediatrician commencing asap. This post is fixed term for 6 months


Southampton Children’s Hospital is delighted to offer the opportunity to join the General Paediatric team for a versatile, talented clinician interested in a 6 month locum position.


The successful applicant will gain the benefit of working in a Children’s hospital with attached medical school and tertiary speciality paediatric teams.


No particular subspecialty interest is desirable for this post however it would be hoped that any particular interests of the post holder can be accommodated.


The successful applicant will be an integral part of the general paediatric service.


The successful applicant will contribute to the provision of the General Paediatric group job plan which provides Consultant of the Week cover to all general paediatric in-patients, Out-patients (both routine and urgent) and on-call. 


Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC, hold a license to practice and be on the Specialist Register. This would also be an outstanding opportunity for senior paediatric trainees within 6 months of obtaining their CCT.


Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role.  Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.  Applicants requiring Tier 2 sponsorship should ensure they meet the Home Office application criteria prior to submitting an application.
