The waste department is an essential part of the hospital as it is responsible for the disposal of all types of waste, this position is vital to ensure the hospital runs smoothly every day of the week.
The team provides an efficient, reliable and high quality Waste Management Service to UHS. The Waste Management Team collects, segregates, stores and removes waste from site this is made up of several categories of waste, these include, clinical, domestic, recycling, cardboard, glass and hazardous waste.
The role is to transfer waste from holding areas within the hospital building to the outside waste compound via big wheeled bins you will be required to use tugging equipment at times, you are also responsible for collecting the Linen from the wards.
We are looking for a highly motivated team player who has the ability to work under pressure and show initiative, this is a physical job, on average 15 miles a day are walked by each team member.
