Do you have the attributes and drive to join our estates maintenance team in providing the first class facilities service needed for our doctors and nurses to deliver their first class patient services?

Then you may well be the very operations officer (electrical) we are looking for.

With a clear focus on quality and customer service you will be managing a team of electricians and mechanical fitters working on the trusts healthcare specific plant and equipment that supports the delivery of world class healthcare here at Southampton General Hospital. The successful person will join our dedicated and diverse team maintaining our modern healthcare estate, delivering responsive, compliant and economic solutions in a challenging operating environment.

To provide first line management and day to day management and co-ordination of a designated maintenance team. Provide forward planning and resource manage the planned preventative maintenance, ensuring that relevant statutory and mandatory maintenance tasks are properly planned, co-ordinated and delivered in a timely manner and meet departmental KPI targets, managing a team of up to10 people and a range of specialist contractors working on UHS sites

The role includes a requirement to participate in the estates officers call out rota and associate out of hours working and appropriate authorised person’s duties.

The Estates Department has a demonstrable track record in developing staff to enhance personal learning and promotional opportunities.

The terms and conditions of the position include 35 days annual holiday including public holidays and NHS pension scheme.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
