We are looking for a registered nurse with critical care experience to join the Division B education team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) as a Clinical Practice Educator. This is an exciting opportunity, for an enthusiastic individual to develop and deliver education in Respiratory HDU. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to participate in education in another area in the division alongside other education colleagues. We are looking for someone with the relevant experience and a passion for education, who would like to develop their teaching skills, whilst having a positive impact on patient care.
Division B at UHS includes emergency care, medicine, specialist medicine, ophthalmology, pathology and Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance. The successful candidate will work in the Division B education team, directly supported by the senior clinical educator and the divisional lead to deliver the vision: to educate, develop and inspire; continuous learning to support the delivery of outstanding patient care.
Develop education strategies in partnership with the clinical area and senior clinical educator to deliver ward/department based education
Support staff to complete statutory and mandatory training
Provide opportunities for professional development
Respond to local and Trust-wide clinical training needs
Registered nurse with critical care experience
Excellent communication skills with all members of the MDT
Passionate about education
Prior experience of developing nursing practice
Team player with good working relationships
A recognised teaching/mentorship course/qualification
A curiosity for learning and enthusiasm about your own professional development
An ability to manage own workload; capable of working independently and as part of a wider team
