This is an exciting opportunity to lead the improvement of Information and Data Quality within Division A at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). Division A is responsible for Surgery, Cancer Care, Critical Care, Theatres and is hosting the Wessex Rapid Diagnostic Service on behalf of the Wessex Cancer Alliance. You will provide specialist support to the development of information services within the division, addressing issues of data quality, activity reporting and the process of data collection. This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

You will be responsible for improving data collection within the Division to ensure all activity is captured and correctly recorded, to inform business planning, income management, demand management and performance monitoring.

You will also provide specialist support to the Wessex Raid Diagnostic Service and Wessex Cancer Alliance in line with the above.

ABOUT THE TEAM

You will work closely with the Advanced Business Intelligence Analyst on both Divisional and Wessex areas of work.

This will involve close working relationships with both the Division A Divisional Management Team as well as the team in the Wessex Rapid Diagnostic Service (RDS) and wider Wessex Cancer Alliance Team.

This is a great opportunity to develop within an Acute Trust environment as well as gain exposure to wider objectives in particular within Cancer.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • You will provide support for the Divisional, RDS and Wessex Cancer Alliance team working closely with the Advanced Business Intelligence Analyst.

  • You will analyse and audit existing information processes; plan, develop and implement programmes to resolve issues; lead the development of new processes and develop systems of regular reporting for Trust, service and national reporting requirements.

  • You will analyse highly complex activity information and develop performance indicators and benchmarking tools.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • You will have experience in data manipulation , statistical, interpretive and analytical skills with complex datasets

  • You will have experience of producing performance management information for use at a senior level

  • You will have good planning,  analytical, administrative and numerate abilities

  • You will have expertise in a range of complex software and their functionality

  • You will be able to work effectively as part of a team but also be able to work independently and manage multiple demands and priorities
