An exciting opportunity has arisen in University Hospital Southampton, one of Europe’s largest teaching hospitals for an enthusiastic MSK Physiotherapist to support the Adult Cystic Fibrosis team in treating MSK disorders in this population.
The highly skilled and dedicated Wessex Adult Cystic Fibrosis multidisciplinary team are based within Southampton General Hospital. They are committed to delivering high quality care to approximately 300 adults with CF across a large geographical location.
This role is offered on a part time (18.75 hours per week) basis.

Work closely with our regional multi-professional Cystic Fibrosis team
Supported by a Clinical Specialist and highly specialised physiotherapists in Cystic Fibrosis to provide the necessary training in CF but with MSK supervision from the MSK department.
Reviewing outpatients attending our multi-professional Cystic fibrosis clinics both face to face and virtually.
Reviewing in patients with acute and chronic MSK issues
Occasional community visits as indicated
Assessing and treating MSK disorders associated with CF but also a range of acute and chronic MSK issues akin to those of the general population.
Supporting the CF team in home exercise programmes and upskilling in simple MSK treatments.
Supervising Band 5 and Band 4 in delivering MSK programmes and interventions.
Expected to be involved in the teaching programme, service development and student supervision.
Involvement in research and development and presenting where able
Attendance at regional meetings may also be required.
The MDT strives to develop the service and has a strong focus on research with numerous team members presenting at conferences both Nationally and internationally.

Dynamic Physiotherapist
Relevant postgraduate MSK clinical experience
Desire to develop knowledge and skills in MSk with an interest in CF
Leadership skills in the absence of Band 7/8
Motivated to take part in audit, service improvement and research and development
Able to teach junior staff and students
Able to take part in on call rotas across the trust on a rota basis
