An opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Physiotherapist, who is motivated to enhance function and quality of life, to join the award winning Medicine for Older People’s team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). Our integrated therapy team offers specialist services covering approximately 150 beds, treating adults living with frailty, with a variety of pathologies through an existing 7 day service. Our therapy team is a valued part of an expansive, robust and close knit MDT, priding itself in delivering patient centred, holistic care.
We offer the opportunity to work on the Enhanced Dementia Care Unit – a unique, specialist ward in our region. We are proud to support the Eat Drink Move initiative at UHS and have won several awards including, ‘Most Inspiring Team’ at the #endpjparalysis awards and the ‘Care of the Older Person’ BMJ Award. The entire MDT is always striving to be at the forefront of innovation and development. Support will be given towards your continued learning, personal and professional development.
The successful candidate will have a broad range of relevant clinical experience and be able to demonstrate a real passion for the care of older people. The ability to treat your patients with the utmost care, compassion and dignity is imperative, as well as excellent prioritisation and time management skills. Recent experience of working in the acute setting is desirable.
