An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist and administrative assistant to join the NIHR-funded units, the Clinical research facility (CRF) and biomedical research centre (BRC) at the Southampton University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, on a one year fixed term contract in the first instance.

You will be the first point of contact for visitors at CRF/BRC reception, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the reception/switchboard. You will administer the ordering, receipt and storage of patient notes, manage room bookings in our busy facility and assist visitors and staff with their queries. A second major component of the role includes the provision of clerical and administrative support to colleagues, meeting management, and data entry.

Interested candidates should preferably have receptionist experience in the NHS, social services, academic or healthcare background. Good communication skills, the ability to organise your own workload, use your own initiative, maintain confidentiality and flexible working are key requirements. The ability to work as part of a team as well as with patients and the public is also highly essential.
