Would you like to join our Finance team and become part of a major Teaching Hospital in the South of England?  Do you enjoy working with a variety of people in a challenging but supportive environment to achieve a common goal?  Would you like to be part of a busy Cashiers team in providing a customer-facing service to both patients and staff, whilst adhering to the Trust’s strict financial procedures?   

This role is being offered on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. 

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Cashiers Team is a patient and staff-facing, pressurised team which ensures that all cash for the Trust is collected, processed and banked within the Trust’s strict financial procedures, so accuracy, care and attention to detail are essential.  The team liaises with patients and their carers regarding patients’ valuables and the reimbursement of travel costs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This will be an excellent opportunity for someone looking for experience in a friendly NHS finance team with a strong patient focus.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who is a good team player, organised and methodical and able to work under pressure. The successful candidate should have an excellent customer-focused manner and attitude, an ability to use their own initiative to problem-solve on the job, to ensure financial procedures are interpreted and implemented correctly. They will also have good Microsoft Office skills and a background in Finance/Customer Service.

Essential criteria
  • 5 GCSE (or equivalent) passes, Grades A-C, including English & Maths
  • ECDL or demonstrated experience in using standard software packages, especially spreadsheets
Desirable criteria
  • GCSE or eqivalent NVQ in accounting or banking
  • A Level or NVQ3, in finance, IT, Maths or business administration, or banking

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working in a banking or customer facing role
