Within the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Care Group our aim is to provide care and treatment of the highest standard, support leading edge teaching and research, pioneer new techniques and take an innovative approach to improve the quality of everything we do.

We currently have a full time SAT Team Leader post available leading our Cardiology & Vascular PPC Team (Patient Pathway Coordinator).

This is an exciting opportunity in managing a team of patient pathway coordinators, who oversee the Cardiology and Vascular services for the cardiovascular and thoracic care group.

Experience in working in the Trust or managing a team would be beneficial. You should have a caring, courteous manner with a thorough understanding of good customer service skills. The role is varied and busy and you will need to have a flexible approach to a demanding work load with changing priorities.

An understanding of the 18 week patient pathway is essential as part of this role will require you to register and monitor consultant’s patient’s referrals.

You will have a good general level of education and be computer literate. You will have experience of working with the general public and an excellent telephone manner. You must be able to work well both within a team and unsupervised, have good communication and organisational skills and be able to work efficiently under pressure.

Previous experience of working with the Trust computerised administration systems is desirable, as you will be actively involved in using the hospital computer based system.

You should enjoy working as part of a varied multidisciplinary team, and will have contact with medical and nursing staff, GP practices, patients and other District General hospitals.
