An exciting opportunity has arisen for staff nurses (Band 5s) to join the leukaemia and bone marrow transplant (BMT) team at University Hospitals Southampton. The unit specialises in haematology which is largely for patients undergoing a stem cell transplant. We are proud of our positive patient’s feedback and excellent transplant programs which treats more than 120 patients a year across southwest of UK.

As a team, we aspire to provide a safe environment and the best practice standards for our patients who are vulnerable and undertaking a complex treatment in order to regain their health. In answer to that, we are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic nurses with a genuine interest in this speciality along with a commitment to continuous learning.

You will need to have experience of working in an acute care setting and an understanding of current acute health service issues. In return, we can offer you opportunities to enhance your skills in blood transfusion, chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. You will be part of a forward thinking and supportive multi- professional team such as clinical nurse specialists, hospital palliative care, infection control, and more.

If you have a strong focus on patient care and are able to work inter-professionally across boundaries then we are keen for you to join our team. Informal visits are encouraged.
