Interested in Isolation care? Do you want to make a difference to the lives of our patients? Then we want to hear from you!

C5 has 14 rooms and cares for patients with higher risk diseases and also is the base for our cystic fibrosis patients. Our Isolation Unit is an exciting development that will see us deliver world-class infection prevention practice.

In short, we want this pioneering development to be the best and that is why we want you to join us and add to the team of nursing professionals who'll make it reality. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic band 5 Staff nurses to join our team.

Your goal will be to make every patient's experience in isolation as positive as it possibly can be – and we'll ensure that you have all the resources, facilities and support to achieve that. We've not just made a big investment in this new unit. We'll make a big investment in you too.

You will be offered opportunities to develop both clinically and professionally within a supportive environment.  These will be delivered through our bespoke education and training programmes, our dedicated in house education team and our strong links with the University of Southampton.

In return, we want you to play your part in shaping how we deliver truly individual care. So you will definitely need to bring vision and fresh ideas and be willing to learn.

Flexibility to work the full range of shifts within a 24 hour shift pattern is essential, however we are happy to review shift flexibility to ensure work life balance.

This is also your chance to join one of the biggest teaching trusts in England, with 10,500 staff providing hospital services for more than 1.3 million people living across south Hampshire. Pioneering treatment, life-saving surgery and cutting edge research are all in a day's work at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

About University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust:

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) is one of England's largest acute teaching trusts. We've recently been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey we ranked seventh in the country for staff engagement, and fourth best nationally for our proportion of staff saying that they would recommend the hospital as a place to work or to receive care. One of our main objectives has been to become a top ten research trust, with the pharmacy department being an integral part of achieving this.

Staff benefits:

Staff can access discounts for local facilities such as local gyms and national discounts on everything from holidays to electricals. We have two nurseries that staff can use, one based on the Southampton General Hospital site (for UHS employees only) and one at the Western Community Hospital site (rated outstanding by Ofsted). Our modern, purpose-built nurseries provide regular childcare to children aged three months to school and have extended opening hours to help fit in with your schedule.

About Southampton:

Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and only an hour on the train from central London. The New Forest National Park and the beaches of the Jurassic coast are also right on our doorstep.  The city offers living costs 20% lower than those in London, 13 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted and 13 nearby green spaces to enjoy.

Closing date for applications Wednesday 17 October.
