University Hospitals of Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) is a large teaching hospital located providing healthcare to 1.9 million people living in Southampton, as well as specialist services to more than 3.7 million people in central southern England and the Channel Islands. Our mission is to provide clinical care, to educate current and future healthcare professionals, and to use research to improve healthcare for the future.

We are currently seeking to appoint an Associate Director of Corporate Affairs to act as the company secretary to the Foundation Trust and provide support to the governors. The post-holder will work closely with our Chair, Chief Executive and the wider Board, providing strategic advice relating to legal, compliance, corporate risk and governance.

We’re also one of only a few trusts in the UK that have the ability to care for people before their birth through to the end of life, providing almost every specialism they could need along the way, 24/7. We recently conducted staff surveys and focus groups and the top five things our staff liked most about working at UHS were:

  • The exceptional education and training that the Trust can provide as a teaching hospital
  • The comprehensive benefits and employment package
  • The level of professional commitment within our teams
  • The quality of patient care and our staff members’ pride in their work
  • Our staff members’ strong teamwork and partnership working.
